A Message From Our Owners
Mary Kolock, RN

Mary Kolock is a Registered Nurse with over 30 years of experience in varied areas of patient care. She is a former CCRN which is a national certification designating expertise in critical care nursing. She is also a Red Cross certified instructor in CPR/AED and First Aid. Optimal health, disease prevention and patient education have always been priorities for her,

She strongly believes that as technologically advanced as our medical system is, and as knowledgeable as our physicians are, we, as healthcare consumers, must take a very active role in our own care. "It is well known and well documented that many of the most common medical conditions affecting our population are highly influenced by controllable risk factors." Obesity, poor nutrition and lack of regular exercise are major threats to health and well-being.

Her goal with the Inches-A-Weigh program is to provide the knowledge and tools necessary for women to achieve and maintain their weight loss goals, bolster their self-confidence, and encourage an all-around healthy lifestyle within a friendly, supportive environment.

Dr. Kolock is a Board Certified Internist with practice experience in group, solo and managed care clinical environments. He was also a Board Certified Physician Executive and held several directorial positions in the managed care, pharmaceutical and insurance industries. In addition to his involvement with Inches-A-Weigh, he has recently founded Insights In Healthcare, a healthcare consulting firm and serves as a speaker for the American Heart Association.

In his position as Medical Director of a large national disease management company, he repeatedly saw the positive results of a healthy lifestyle reflected in measured outcomes. Patients with chronic illnesses such as diabetes, coronary artery disease, and asthma have fewer complications and hospitalizations when they actively participate in their own care. This includes working to attain certain key clinical targets, such as recommended ranges of blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar. A fundamental way to reach these targets is by controlling weight through proper nutrition and exercise.

He views this as an exciting opportunity to provide effective strategies to help our clients overcome the limitations to their lives that their weight has imposed upon them. "From my perspective, the Inches-A-Weigh weight loss program is a commonsense, clinically sound approach to one of the most widespread barriers to health and well-being. "
